Silent line in a part
A part can often display, in small notes, a line not meant to be played by that part. The line displays what another instrument is playing. These tiny lines are used as cues to recognize when to come in, etc. Can we display such unsounded lines in parts that will not play during playback and will not be reproduced in the midi file?

Yes, just use thre Inspector to mark the notes Small (actually, using the Chord section of the Inspector) and also turn off their Play property.

Well, I've tried.
I now have a subordinate line (in part2) that has been miniaturized to small notes. I would like the line to be "not played" but be able to be set back to large (normal sized notes) and set to "played', at times.
I can't, for the life of me, find the "Play" property. I'm assuming that I should see it when selecting a range of notes(?) Where??
[The file I am sending is a transcription I'm making as an exercise for myself. See measures 18 & 19, piano part.]

By the way, I always look in the manual before I ask for help.

I figured it out!
(I also think I found a bug.)
1.) View Selection Filter (or F6); Select Part 2 only
2.) Select a line. In my case the second part in the piano bass cleff from measure 1 to measure 16.
3.) From Inspector, choose Notes
4.) Bug is: I can't see the "Play" option because I can't anything below "Fix to line" under "Note"
To find the "Play" option
a.) click on "Chord"
b.) NOW, I can see the listings below "Play" "Fix to line" under "Note"!!

AND IT WAS MY FAULT because I didn't have the Inspector window open all the way.
Oops.
