Score: Bass Guitar Tablature

I'm building my first score. I've followed the manual using the new score wizard; added the instrument (bass guitar) then bass clef. Everything seemed ok until I began entering notes. They showed on the upper staff but not as tabs on the lower. I've obviously missed something. Can you tell from this photo what I missed? Thanks in advanced!
