Help on meaning and how to insert a note type and how to tie one note to two notes.

Hi, I am tying to transcribe some sheet music I have using musescore and have run into two things I can't figure out how to do. The first problem I have is a note type I do not know the name for and have not been able to find online. The notes in question are the first notes in bass clef measure in the picture below - the 1/4 and whole C right next each other and the 1/4 C on top of the whole A.

The next issue I have is that I need to tie one note into two voltes/endings, as seen below (measures 43-45). Played around with musescore but have not been able to figure out how to make it do this.

1] See "Voices" in the Handbook. Possibly the commonest question asked, which indicates a)it's common and b)no shame in asking.

2] Version 2.0 may have this covered but for 1.3 I add a semi-quaver grace note, move it a little to the left, tie it to the whole note then make the grace note invisible.
