Entering accidentals
I am simply uable to enter accidentals in Musescore 3. The controls mentioned in the manual and in the Shortcuts table do not work. can anybody help me?

You don't say at which step of the process you are getting stuck. But my guess is you are either using an older version and the documentations for a new one, or vice versa. The procedure changed a few releases ago, instead of entering the note at the wrong pitch first then correcting it with the accidental, you now select the accidental first then the pitch.

Thanks for your prompt reply. I apologiize for the inconvenience. The problem was my keyboard. I replaced it with a new one and everything's working fine. Thanks again.
