Creating Synthesia style videos?
Although I can read music, I tend to learn better if I can actually see what to play. I've picked up several songs on YouTube through Synthesia videos (you know, the ones that show a keyboard and the notes to play while the sheet music scrolls along at the top) and it also helps me with my sight reading. I know MuseScore has a similar feature where you can view when looking at other's sheet music but I can't figure out how to do it for my own music, slow down the videos, or export/save them else where. Is this even a feature MuseScore has?

Do you mean within MuseScore itself? have your score open and hit "P". Then hit Play. Otherwise, I'm not sure what you mean.
Unless you want to make a video of what you see. For that there are screen record apps.

I do know about that feature, but I'm thinking about something like this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MmCrSZFviN8. As I mentioned, MuseScore's online scores has a similar feature (see the attached picture) however I can't slow it down or manipulate it anyway.

If it's on YouTube then you can download it with VLC media player and then slow it down. I haven't come across Synthesia before but it looks very helpful. Not sure if VLC can directly download Musescore videos but you can capture any video using OBS Studio.

It's an original score I wrote in MuseScore which I'm looking to convert into a video like the one I linked previously. I'm asking if MuseScore is able to do this or not :)

Oh, I see.
You could record the Piano Roll Editor playback but the result would be horizontal rather than vertical and nowhere near as convenient as a built-in option.
I presume that you have already got Synthesia so you should just be able to export the MIDI file from Musescore and use it in Synthesia.

Actually I don't have Synthesia, I was hoping that MuseScore had a similar feature so I wouldn't have to buy Synthesia.

You say that, "MuseScore's online scores has a similar feature".
Are you referring to the scores on musescore.com or on YouTube?

So why can't you use this video and just slow it down?

Perhaps I'm not being clear. There is no way to slow down the videos on MuseScore. There is no way to export or download them. I also want to be able to see the score as I play.
I thought perhaps I missed something so I went back to the scores on musescore.com and checked through using both my own music and others's music. Again, I found no way to slow the videos down or change the tempo. No way to export/download the videos. I also noticed the animation is not in sync with the music.

You can capture the video from musescore.com as an MP4 file and then play it back using VLC Media player at any speed that you like, even step thru it frame by frame. It also time stretches the sound so that the frequencies don't change.
VLC is free and works well on Windows and Android. I haven't used it on other platforms.
VLC can split video and sound so you could even re-sync them.

I can make a test video if you can share a link to a musescore.com score which has this sort of video. Do you have VLC media player available?

Thanks for the offer, I actually decided to get Synthesia since it has a few other features I'd like and it is a one time purchase. I'm really liking it

Looks like a good product at a very reasonable price.
