They were developed specifically to track issues like the one you mention.
You might find you have to create your own soundfont if you can't find what you're looking for in an existing one.
I wasn't able to find a specific articulation for it but what you can do is write an open hi-hat, followed immediately by a closed hi-hat. Make it invisible, turn off "play" in Inspector, and if it's going to interfere with other notes, put it into an unused voice; I chose voice 3.
