Snare Drum without snares
I'm trying to transcribe Britten's Young Person's Guide to the Orchestra (in separate parts). And for the bassoons, the snare drum is playing without snares. Any ideas?

Use staff text to add a notate to that effect then use a high tom sound, or search for a soudnfont that has the specific drum you are looking for.
