If you call note->addParentheses() (e.g. for harmonics) it adds a symbol to the left and another symbol to the right of the note. The symbol to the right is too close to the note and gets clipped every time (in TAB). If you add an x-offset of 0.1 to the right symbol (in the inspector) it fixes the problem.

It actually needs to be 0.25 to have no clipping, for the closing paren. And -0.1 for the opening paren.
Cumbersome, but still a workaround
Thanks. I was just about to post, regarding parenthesis, that the default parenthesis settings leave them too fine and too close to notes, especially too close to tablature fret numbers.
