Combining beams
I just notated something and the eighth note beams in two notes adjecent to each other were not connected. How do I connect them? See measure 11 in the bass clef below. Thanks!

Those aren't supposed to be beamed; they belong to different halves of the measure. The rules of music notation specifically require beat 3 to be clearly visible in cases like this. Joining the beam would obscure that and make the rhythm harder to understand, which is why the rule exists.
