Cross-Staff Notation Amidst Chords

Having the ability to notate like this is better. (First picture) Currently, the only way to get a similar result is to select the desired notes and convert them to a different voice to be ctrl + shifted up, but there is an unsightly gap. Adding this feature would be great. Perhaps ctrl + alt could be the shortcut.
