Not Responding in the middle of adding notes
I opened Musescore 2.1 on my desktop after not using it for some time on my Windows 10. I got a notification that an update (3.6) was available for Musescore and I installed it. The 2.1 was still on my toolbar too but didn’t know how to delete it. So I opened the 3.6 and after a few hours of going through how to use it I started a new score. I had opted for a pickup measure but it didn’t appear, so I had to add one manually. When I added the fifth note by clicking the Note input icon and clicking on the staff, suddenly the note wasn’t added and instead the cursor showed a spinning circle. I tried to click on File to save what I had but the top bar said Not Responding and a red X appeared on the top right corner of the window.
If I exit, will I lose my work? How can I fix the not responding issue? What may have caused it and how can I prevent it from happening again? Thanks- L

Yes, you will loose some work, potentially the last 2 minutes of it.
Kill that hung MuseScore (you don#t have any other choice anyway), restart it, it'll ask whether to revover ftom the crash, accept that, of check for the autosave copy of the score, see How to recover a backup copy of a score

Thank you for the information. When I came back to my pc after about an hour the app window I left open was functioning properly again. The problem didn’t repeat when I went back on the following day, and I didn’t lose my work.
