Location of 'repeat previous measure' sign.
I can't locate the option to place a 'repeat measure' sign, i.e. the sign consisting of a forward slash with a dot above and a dot below the slash.

It should be in the Repeats and jumps pallet. If you have somehow removed it from the pallet you should find it if you click on the "more" option.

Many thanks for your prompt response Steve. However I've failed to locate the 'Breaks and Jumps' palette. It does not appear in the list of palettes at the left hand side of the screen. I've looked for it after clicking on the 'More' option but it doesn't reveal itself - even after clicking on the 'reset to default' position. Any further suggestions?

Probably you are in the "Basic" workspace. Either Switch to "Advanced" using the control at top right of the main window, or just click the "Add Palettes" button at the top of the palette and select that palette from the list.

Many thanks Marc. I'm not too sure that I've quite followed your suggestions but they did help me to find what I was looking for, i.e. under the 'Master Palettes' option. I was able to add the repeat symbol from that. Not exactly the easiest or most intuitive procedure but, in the end, it worked!

Read this part of the handbook https://musescore.org/en/handbook/3/palettes, in particular this https://musescore.org/en/handbook/3/palettes#show-hidden-palette for more information on how to manage pallets.

Indeed, but you’re not supposed to need that. Not sure if you had trouble finding the Advanced workspace or the Add Palettes button or both, but I recommend immediately switching from Basic to Advanced as soon as you install the program. But it’s not too late. Just look all the way to the right of the main toolbar, and where it says Basic, switch to Advanced, simple as that!
