It's presumably a glissando, which can add from the Arpeggios and Glissandi palette, by selecting the first of the two notes then clicking the palette icon.

BTW, if you already have the music in MuseScore in E, just transpose it using Tools / Transpose, no need to re-enter it.

I'm not sure what kind of pictrue you mean. It should be exactly as simple as I said - just click the first of the two notes (the one with the four dots) then click the glissando symbol on the Arpeggios & Glissandi palette.

A dot adds half the duration of oa note, a second dot adds half again, a third dots adds half again, a fourth dot addds half again. More than one dot is very rare, more than two is essentially not done by professional editors. So unless you are working for a publisher who requires you to copy that particular notation, I'd advise against it. Really there's no good reason not to just notate as dotted eighth / sixteenth - there is no way anyone would actually play it any differently.

The 8 means to play that note an octave higher. That simply is on the Lines palette.

Mr. Sabatella is right. When I look at the score, all I see is a tried-and-true workaround to show the note on which the glissando will end. To do this, the smallest duration value that can be used by the software used was chosen (naturally).
Although there are other ways to show this, I think they have chosen the only format the software used can both play and show in notation.
