You can't. Chord symbols are letters and numbers, so you need a computer keyboard to enter them

I've recently moved over from Sibelius First and this is one of the most irritating things about an otherwise brilliant programme. In Sibelius you can play the chord via midi and it will interpret it into letters and numbers, saving you vast amounts of time. It seems this is still not available in Musescore! :(

Have you looked at this plugin https://musescore.org/en/project/chord-identifier-pop-jazz. It identifies chords from notes already written in the score rather than in real time. But it seems pretty close to what you are looking for.
