Hope you were able to solve the problem, but yeah. Opening the zipped soundfont's folder and dragging everything out into a new, normal folder (to keep it organized) can work too.
Or right click the folder and extract all to a new folder on your desktop. I find it easy to do that and find it too.
After getting the zipped things out, just double click the .sf2/.sf3 file and make sure MuseScore is the program that opens it. It'll tell you to choose to install it or not. Of course, yes, lol.
