Connect a digital keyboard to Musescore
Equipment:
Kawai ES920 MIDI keyboard
HP laptop with Windows 10
Focusrite interface Scarlett 4i4
Two MIDI cables.
I connected the MIDI out from my keyboard to the MIDI in of the Focusrite. MIDI out of my Focusrite to my MID in of the Keyboard. The Focusrite is connected to a USB of my lap top.
I restarted the computer when all these connections were made. When I play the keyboard the MIDI light on the Focusrite responds. I enabled the MIDI input in Musescore. The keyboard is not visible in the I/O tab.
I cannot get Musescore to recognize my MIDI keyboard :(

I hear people have had trouble with the Scarlett; is it possible to connect the keyboard directly? Or does it only have a MIDI port, not USB?

Thank you for your timely reply. I bought the Focusrite so that I can have another musician record via a microphone. Has anyone found a workaround for the Scarlett? I will try to contact them too.
My keyboard also has a USB output like a printer. Are you saying that I can take the keyboard USB and attach it to a computer? I also have a chord with MIDI in and MIDI out on one end and a USB on the other. Which of these two chords do you recommend.
