1) Open a score. I tested this on a small concert score
2) choose some notes and put a legato line over them. I tested this on multiple instruments, with whole notes over multiple bars
3) Hang and crash

Note: first time I did it it worked, but never again.

Sample score needed. If by 'legato line' you mean 'slur': that just works, as far as I can tell (and ever did)
