Self created guitar chord diagrams

Hello folks:

I’m not familiar with MuseScore, having used Finale for many years. But I need something different now, and I’d like to know if MuseScore can do it. I want to make guitar chord diagrams of fingerings I’ve devised, that are non-standard (many of which are of dissonances, or tone clusters). I do not want these diagrams attached to a staff, as if it was a song chart. They are to be independent of that. I want to name them myself, and the names will be non-standard as well. A typical name might be “C# tetrachord, minor”, sometimes with additional info, such as “D displaced up”. (This obviously means that some names will be unusually long compared to typical chord names.) I might end up wanting only one chord symbol per page, so it could be fairly large. What would be wonderful would be if it told me if the symbol I’m creating now is a duplication of one I’ve already created, but I realize that’s asking a lot.

If the chord symbol could be created with a small staff below it, or with a 2 staff system as is used for piano, no more than one bar in length, I could provide the notes of my symbol in standard (non transposed) notation as well. I’d also like room around the symbol to add a few notes, not musical notes but verbal ones.

I’ve collected probably around 100 of these fingerings, and more seem to keep coming, and I’m looking for a way to notate them, and then organize them. Will MuseScore work for this? If not, do you know of anything that would? I’d really appreciate any help or advice you can offer. I’m not in a hurry, so please, if you can answer this email, do so at your convenience.
