Order style dialog
When editing styles [Format --> Styles], it is currently hard to find what youre looking for. I suggest styles in the menu to the left be sorted in alphabetic order.

Alphabetical oder doesn't make sense, as soon as your language (settings) is not English.
Alphabetic order doesn't even make sense in English - there is no logical reason in the world for settings relating to Measure and to Barlnes to not be adjacent just because M doesn't happen to be adjacent to B. Simialr, it's great to have all settings for text-related elements (eg, Dynamics, also Staff Text) near each other rather than separately by as much as D is from S. Alphabetic also has the disadvantage of meaning, you have to know the name for the tab in order to find it, rather than being able to search by its proximity to other related settings even if you don't know the name of the group you are looking for.
But, no doubt, improvements in the ordering are possible, as is adding subheadings to make the logic of the groupings more clear.
Well, as it stands it's really hard to find what you're looking for. According to your reasoning chord symbols are slightly less important than general bass:)
But yes, I understand the logic behind this. I'll learn, even though it's making me crossed-eyed right now.

Well, as I said, there is certainly room for improvement. But note I didn't say it's about importance, it's about relationships. Chords symbols and figured bass are related to each other, so it makes sense they are near each other. Doesn't really matter to me which comes first, though.

Hmmm. I totally agree with you. Related items close to each other, but also.
It's just... A bit hard to find what I'm looking for. I've given this a bit of thought over the last few days, and I cant really find a better way.
Anyway, thanks for this discussion. I shall try to contribute, I am very curious about version 4. Have started some translating (Swedish).

Great to have you on board! FWIW, I think collapsible headings would be a good start. So for instance, the first half dozen or so could fall under "Page Format", the next group "Measures and Notes", the next (larger) grouping "Musical Symbols", and finally the settings relating to "Text". Ideally, a way would be found to organize the palette along similar lines.
