Configurable Count-in when using real-time input

I would like a way to initiate a "count-in" that would play a click track corresponding to the note timing and note sampling duration I set-up for real-time midi input so that I reduce the amount of "wrong note durations" because I didn't memorize the note spacing and duration timing for a selected note prior to playing my first note or chord.

The "count-in" could be activated by a keyboard sequence on the computer keyboard (not the midi keyboard)

Today, (after a couple bad measures of real-time input) I eventually "lock-in" to the click track that accompanies real-time note entry but then have a lot of time-consuming "clean-up"
