With Musescore 2 Beta 1, go to Edit | Preferences | Score | View. The parameter Default zoom only allows to set a percentage, while the zoom drop-down menu (in the Musescore main GUI) displays additional choices: Page Width, Whole Page and Two Pages.
If I could, I would choose Page Width as my default zoom.
Comments
The value of 170% in "Preferences" corresponds roughly to that of "Page Width", right?
And so, once this preference recorded, it will appear in the dropdown menu. :)
Depends on your Screen and whether opr not the inspector is open and docked, etc.
So your assumptions may be true on a wide Screen withoput inspectory and a maximized MuseScore window...
In reality "Page Width" needs to get (re)calculated on every change of the width of the inner window.
I'd support the request. Acrobat e.g has Automatic, Fit Page, Fit Width, Fit Visible, in addition to a bunch of % values.
MuseScore might want all these too, but at least the existing ones should be selectable in Preferences.
This was duplicated by #68431: Save zoom level with scores, keyboard shortcut for "Zoom to Page Width", ability to set default zoom to "Page Width" but tracked there instead of here. Closing this issue as a duplicate.
