Must Colored Notes Result in Colored Measure-borders?
Hello: I notice, when I select a note to be colored in, say, orange, the measure boundary line is also set to that color, with no way of changing it back to black. Is there a solution that would allow the measure boundary to be unaffected by coloring a note? Thanks!

So it appears that I must expect the measure boundary to change to match whatever note is adjacent. Then the work-around is to select the measure boundary and set its color back to black. Seems cumbersome but it works. Any better ideas? Thanks again!
I'm not understanding what you mean. First, what OS, what version of MuseScore? What do you mean by "measure boundary line" - do you mean the barline? And can you post a sample score and steps to reproduce?
I don't have any problems setting the color of individual notes in 1.3 or 2.0; barlines don't change. I justy click a single note - or use other ordinary note-selection methods like ctrl+click, click / shift-click, click / shfit+arrow, etc - and change color using the right click menu in 1.3 or Inspector in 2.0, and the notes change as expected, no change to anything else.

The problem I noted occurred after selecting ALL of the notes inside one measure and setting them to a single color. That causes the barline to the right to change to the same color. It is easily changed back to black. Single-Note color-change does not seem to cause the barline to change. I use vera. 1.3 on a MacBook Pro with OS X. Thanks for your input.

I also selected all the nites in the measure, but I did it the way I said - ctrl click, click / shift-click, etc. The idea is to be sure you are selecting only notes, not the barline, or any other maroings present within the measure. BTW, 2.0 Beta 1 contains a number new enhancements that make it easier to control (and see) exactly what is selected.

Thanks for your help, I do appreciate it. I will try using the ctrl-key to select the notes. I don't remember all that I was experiencing when I had 2.0 installed. Suffice it to say, there were irregularities that I registered somewhere on this forum. Others more skilled than I recommended re-installing 1.3 which DID resolve most of the annoyances. I'm told that I may have to wait a long time to install the next upgrade since this incompatibility is expected to continue. I still love this software and what it allows me to do.

There seems to be some confusion over versions here.
MuseScore 2.0 has not yet been released, and is only available in a pre-release beta version and in the nightlies.
As far as I am aware there are no major incompatibilites between those and Mac OS.
There is, however, a problem with the latest update of Mac OSX and 1.3 caused by a bug in the Qt library used to develop it.
We have been advising Mac OSX users to downgrade to 1.2 to solve this.
Is this what you mean?
