Understanding time signatures
Could someone please explain to me how the middle measure of the treble clef should be counted? It’s a 4/4. Looks to me like there’s an extra beat in it. Could this be an error in the score? Thanks.
Edit: I’d delete this thread if I could, I figured it out. 3 voices.

That's just an error. It has nothing to do with the number of voices. Beat two of upper stave's 2nd measure should obviously be solid heads, not hollow heads.
Yes, it is just more than 2 voices, with some rests missing
