The Soundfont for the Clarinet is very strange. For large amounts of it's register, you can hear other notes with a very strange timbre (often starting shortly after the note begins) that get quite annoying very quickly. The ranges where these sounds are made include (all in the key of Bb)
B5 and upwards
C#5 - F#5
F4 - C5
C#4 and lower

I do agree; I have never sounded like this as a performer. I would say the workaround here is to use a VST or the default soundbank until newer sounds are made.

I guess it is this problem you are experiencing https://github.com/musescore/MuseScore/issues/14060 You will see it is on the To Do list. But until it is on the Done list, it is very frustrating.
Also frustrating is the limited range (nothing above top E plays). And that is also on the To Do list. See https://github.com/musescore/MuseScore/issues/13894
