Musescore 3.3 not saving changes

None of my changes are being saved; I changed the settings from A4 to ANSI/letter, tried to change the size of the font on text from 12 to 13 by clicking the "S" next to the font size, even changing notes. Nothing is being saved. I know there's an update to Musescore 4. Is that the reason? Will I lose all my work if I upgrade?
