Just because Microsoft makes a mistake doesn't mean others should do it too! My Win7 computer works very well, just as it did when it was new. I have hundreds of programs on it, and I'm not going to waste days re-installing them all, and all the drivers on a "new" OS that isn't any better!

Because Qt 6.x won't work in Win7, and the plan is to move there rather soon.
And because of some soup and system thinks that require a newer Win 10

Win 7 without Microsoft updates is just dangerous to use when connected to the internet.
The update to Win 10 is still available for free too

I realise that this software is provided free and would be grateful for that. But surely the aim is to help break the stranglehold that Microsoft has over us. So I echo others comments "why make this incompatible with Windows 7"?
As for security updates, so what? a) it is my risk and b) in 35 years of using PCs I have only once done something stupid and downloaded a virus and have never knowingly run anti-virus software.

This issue tracker has been discontinued.
As has Windows 7, but by Microsoft. And Qt dropped support for it too, so there is no way of getting Mu4 build for and running on Windows 7 or 8. Also the new Mu4 sound engine has a hard requirement for using Windows 10 at least, and even there not the early versions (and this is what the "entry point" thing of this issue is all about).
Even Windows 10 will get dropped rather soon (by Mucrosoft, and probably by Qt too.
