MuseScore 4 Opens Multiple Tabs

I downloaded Musescore 4, and there is no longer the option to open multiple scores. If you want to open multiple scores, it will open as multiple tabs. As someone majoring in composition, this is becoming frustrating. Having multiple musescore tabs open is causing the program to glitch endlessly. A lot of the other features, like making the mixer and instruments more accessible, are really great...but taking away the ability to have multiple scores open without the program having a complete meltdown is becoming a huge issue. Is there a reason for this? Can it be fixed in a future update? I am not the only person I know struggling with this.
