A minor annoyance is that every time I go to Instrument/Add/ the group has defaulted to Common.
If I'm testing different instruments that don't appear in the Common group I have to Click Common again and scan down the list and select the group I'm working with.
I think it would be better to default to the last group opened or at the very least All Instruments. Perhaps there could be a setting so people could chose which is the default.
I hope this information is useful.

I agree, if you're spending a lot of time fiddling with the instrumentation and you're using non-common instruments, it is a minor annoyance to have to keep selecting the right group.
This is especially true when you've paid for specific sound fonts but they're all jumbled up among the many selections. When you change instruments in the Mixer, you get a FAR BETTER user experience. I don't understand why this workflow is ONLY available in the mixer, where I suspect very few of your users even think to look?
The drop-down interface is terrible. But the organization is far better. Why not adopt a similar "family" structure where the top level is Musesounds, VST and SoundFonts?
