MS4 and "missing" sounds
OS: Windows 10 Version 2009, Arch.: x86_64, MuseScore version (64-bit): 4.0.0-223472200, revision: 5485621
Hi all
I’m loving MS4 with the new sounds when I get to hear them. Now, I am running an old computer so what follows could be a direct result and I have already started looking into an upgrade to run MS4.
But for now…:
When I listen to the attached score (originally written in MS3.6) I cannot hear Tpt 2 or Bassoon 2.
Bb clt 2 is louder than Clt 1 (similarly with the French Horns). Tbn 2 is louder than Tbn 1 and bass Tbn.
During 3.6 I got used to using my numeric keypad at the rhs of my keyboard for durations. In MS4 I can only use the numbers along the top of my keyboard. Could someone also please explain how I get my keypad back into play please?! (yes I have Num Lock on!)
My current (an ancient system): Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-3350P CPU @ 3.10GHz 3.10 GHz
Installed RAM 8.00 GB
System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor
Thank you (and happy Christmas to all the Musescore Elves)

Consider an SSD and 8 more gigs of ram.
Keypad doesn't quite work yet.
You may need to re-work dynamics and volumes. Not unusual.
There is a How To for getting MS4 to work.

Thank you for your reply. But I don't hear some instruments at all as mentioned above. It's not that they are just "too quiet" or "too loud". So how do I get them to sound (unless that is to do with my system creaking and groaning!)
An SSD is definitely already on my shopping list, as is 16-32 gigs of RAM. A need for a much faster processor is also high on my list. Gaming PC's (not that I have ever played games !!) seem to have much that I require
For those people having trouble with numpad (works for some, not for others), you can download the XML file below, then go to Edit / Preferences / Shortcuts and import it:

I suspect have you may have customized velocity settings for some notes. This works very differently in MU4 - 0 no longer means "no change" but rather, "no volume". So you'll want reset you previous adjustments. but also it seems you've fiddled with quite a few levels in the mixer, which you'd also want to reset before considering what further adjustments might be needed. Like you've literally turned up the second clarinet higher than 1st, so no surprise it's louder.
But beyond that, it also seems in this score you soloed a whole bunch of staves, but didn't include bassoon 1 or trumpet 2, which explains why you aren't hearing those :-)
