want to make numpad select notes

So a way to select note values is to press the assigned key shortcut, like <4> for the eight note, or <5> for the quarter note. But it doesn't work on the num keys anymore. Turns out the hotkeys were changed to be specific only to tabs. How can I wish to change this? Like, how do you set the shortcut "num+4" on the eight note for example?
