Corrupted scores

• Nov 8, 2024 - 07:05

I regularly have the problem that when I cut, paste, delete or otherwise edit, the top stave of a multi instrument score, the file becomes corrupted. I work around this by taking photos of the affected bars and then laboriously deleting and replacing all affected bars and re-entering all the missing notes etc. The corrupted bars then go back to the correct number of beats

Below and attached is the latest example, which has arisen because I edited the flute melody by deleting notes to give breathing space. You will see that it is something to do with time as it is adding beats to the bars that were edited.

I am using the latest version of the software, in Windows, on a capable computer. This issue has been around a long time as I had it in MS3.

Many thanks and sorry if this is covered elsewhere already.

In order to solve this problem, we'd be delighted if you could reproduce it from a new score, from scratch, detailing the steps involved. Can you do this? If yes, attach the .mscz file, you deserve our applause :)

In the meantime, you can reset the Flute part, in "Parts" / Flute: click on the three little dots "..." / Reset.
That should begin to solve a lot of the corruption. Only 7 measures remain to be fixed in the full score.
