Mixing pitched and unpitched percussion in one score

Hi everyone!
I am writing an orchestral percussion part for one percussionist. I need to go between vibraphone and Tam-tam a lot. Would prefer to have this on one score if possible and be able to switch freely between the 5-line stave and 1-line unpitched stave. So far trying to change the stave lines applies to ALL of the score, and not just the few bars that I select to edit.
There doesn't seem to be an option for this. Would love for this to be possible since the percussionist should really be reading from one score and not be cross-referencing with parts.
