I have Musescore 4.0.1
When I go into settings
Then shortcuts
And trying to set a new Shortcut for a eight note on the keypad the program crashes.
Even if I do this and the program don´t crashes it doesn´t work with the keypad.

Yes. Here are couple additions to this issue with shortcuts:
- not only setting note values shortcuts causes frequent crashes, but pretty much every other shortcut assignement. I've notice it happens when the shortcut is being overriden from some other existing command. At least it seems to be the case
- Certain shortcut combinations wont be recognized, which is really a drag. For example: I want to assign a short cut "Shift+Enter" it will only see "Enter" and so on. In some cases certain complex shortcuts do exist in Musescore menu already . For example a
"ctrl+shift+alt + arrow" shortcut is assigned to a certain command, but trying to recreate that very shortcut to work with the other command does not work.
I will probably better put the last one as a separate issue though.
To the OP: Revert to factory settings and the NumPag shortcurts should work out of the box
