Add specific sound to instruments

There are specific sounds that are hard to find even on VST, so I tried to add a "conga glissando" on my project as a .wav or .mp3 and it wasn't possible whatsoever. The only way was to add an ".dms" archive, which is Cubase based (program I do not work with)
Is there any way to make this happen?
