Dynamic 'n' starting from nothing.
I have some music that uses phasing, with instruments starting from "nothing" and crescendo to a dynamic. Is there anything in the works that would facilitate this?

The n symbol for niente is available in the Dynamics palette (under the More... button).
But getting subtle playback is a bit tricky in MS3 and very challenging in MS4.

I do know that it is in the palette option, I was hoping there was something in the process for that so it would play from nothing.

Try the attached MS3 score, it's a partial solution.

It's something that will hoepfully be better supposed in the future indeed.
Meanwhile, consider adding the pppppp and then editing the text to say "n" (Ctrl+Shift+n).

In MS4, put a quadruple p on the note where the crescendo starts. Add the ending dynamic on the note where it ends. Add the hairpin. Select the hairpin and in Properties, select the Niente circle. This is for looks only. Or you could add the n from dynamics palette. In View/Show/uncheck Show Invisible. Select the pppp and hit V.
One way,at least.

Gotta say, this is the only way to get the desired effect. Thanks!
