Musescore 4 produces a corrupted file
Hello Musescore team,
I am very happy with improvements in Musescore, more and more features on the Musescore.com platform and integration between the program and the platform.
However, I noticed that Musescore corrupts one of my music scores.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Open Skruszonym sercem - Łukasz Czerwiński gęste.mscz with Musescore 4 (OS: macOS 12.6, Arch.: x86_64, MuseScore version (64-bit): 4.0.1-230121751, revision: 9b70a8c)
2. Musescore will display a modal asking to convert from Musescore 1.2.
3. Check both checkboxes related to the font, click OK.
4. Save the file with a new name, e.g. Skruszonym sercem - converted to Musescore 4.mscz
Expected result:
The resulting file (Skruszonym sercem - converted to Musescore 4.mscz) can be opened in Musescore 4.
Actual result:
Opening the file Skruszonym sercem - converted to Musescore 4.mscz in Musescore 4 results in a message saying:
Open error
File "/Skruszonym sercem - converted to Musescore 4.mscz" is corrupted
Buttons: Cancel, Ignore
Hitting Ignore makes Musescore open the file correctly, but saving it again and again does not fix the message.

See if this works for you in MuseScore 4:
Skruszonym sercem - MS4.mscz
If you look at measure 4 of your corrupted file, you will see too many beats in the soprano staff due to a questionable dotted half rest.
2. Musescore will display a modal asking to convert from Musescore 1.2.
Quite, 1.3
Saving and reopening reports:
Incomplete measure: Full score, measure 4, staff 1. Found: 20/16. Expected: 2/4.
In a 4.0.2 pre-release
Opening that 1.3 score in Mu3, saving it there and opening that in Mu4 results in a corruption free score.
So indeed seems that Mu4 corrupts that 1.3 score, and even when using the latest 4.0.2 pre-release.
Should be worth an issue on GitHub, see https://github.com/musescore/MuseScore/issues/16672
@Jm6stringer, your file works, thank you!
@Jojo-Schmitz, thank you for filing the issue on Github on my behalf! :)
I consider this thread resolved.
