How to connect a beam in the desired way?
In the attached picture you can see a 4/4 measure. In the third beat I should join two eighths, in the fourth beat also two eighths, but so as not to join all four together. How do I do that? As you can see, there is a breath between them for the singers and it is important that they are recorded separately.

Yes, I know that, but I can't do what I need to do. It automatically connects four eighths for me on the third and fourth beat. The closest I got is as in the picture beam_1, and I would like to break the beam as shown in beam_2.

Select the third eighth (i.e. where you want the group to start) and click on "break beam left" in the palette - the third item from the left in the picture here in the handbook.
