Mac mini memory issues

im just about to buy a new Mac mini but can't decide if I need 8 or 16 gigs of ram as the price difference is almost 300 bucks (Canadian)...plus the cost of a bigger SSD...any one out there got any idea? Im currently running MS4 on a 10 year old Mac laptop with 16 gigs of ram and its working great however the laptop is on its last legs and needs replacing :)
