Tuning
I'm a guitar player and as you know, one must learn to play the keyboard if one wants to work quickly with a midi controller. Yet, I can only play the white keys.
As you know, if you know harmony and can play the white keys, then you know all the keys. It's a matter of transposing. If I want to play in a key of C# maj, all I have to do is to change the root key to C#, play the same old white keys and keep notating on the key of C. When I'm done, I can transpose it to C# and, change the root key back to C and done with it.
But, when I use the plug in for tuning and change the root key to G, then it asks me to save. When I save, it doesn't save, there is no saved file to be found. When I choose "apply", then the root still sounds C, it reverts back.
Can you help me so I can change what I'm hearing yet still notate on the key of C, play the white keys but able to change the root key say to F, so I play and hear in the key of F but still notate on key of C.
Does it make sense? If so, can you help?

Why does it says n/a? What am I doing wrong? Help?
Hi Urunc,
It seems you want musescore 4 to play a C# sound whenever you press a C key on your hardware midi controller etc. That cannot be achieved by using that plugin Tunings and Temperaments as shown on screenshots you provided, that plugin is usually used for other situations, see Tuning systems, microtonal notation system, and playback.
Try a 3rd party pitch shift VST fx ( see Working with VST and VSTi ) instead, or see if your midi controller has configurable feedback settings, or see if you can pitch shift system wide / OS audio output.
And try the build-in Transposition tools instead.

Setting up a Transposing instrument staff may work as another workaround but I am not certain how midi controller input works on them exactly.

Also, if you want to quote "work quickly with a midi controller" and wish to input pitch + rhythm simultaneously as in a realtime improvisation, you should try out midi recording function of a real DAW first. Musescore is far from a satisfactory tool in my opinion.
It is fine if you have already jotted down something for example on a paper and are seeking a way to digitalize it, musescore's computer mouse and keyboard input is pretty efficient.
