How to format a part

• May 9, 2023 - 02:50

I wasn't sure what to title this. I'm working on a band warm-up book, and I'm trying to get the parts together. I want it so each exercise begins and ends on the lines (which I did), but without the giant measures at the end. I've tried doing the minimum measure width, but that applies it to the whole thing, even if I only highlight a certain section. I attached a screenshot of what I'm dealing with. I want this to be formatted well, 'cause ideally I'm going to try it with students at some point.

Let me know if you need more information. Any help will be greatly appreciated!
Edit: ignore the however-many-eth note I accidentally made at the beginning. I was having trouble screenshotting.

You can add more system breaks to balance all the lines by moving some measures into those sparsely populated lines. (You only used breaks at the double barlines.)

Another way is to "shrink" those "giant" measures by placing a horizontal frame after them to create blank space at the end of a line (i.e., a system). Doing so will make those "giant" measures less spread out across the page.
