Eight/16th note
Why I can't have only eight notes on this triplet? I can't change it or delete it. I'm transcribing a song.

It's a pdf file. Pdf are not pictures. I've downloaded the score from musescore into my computer and then I uploaded it. If that's not a score, I don't know what do you want me to upload.

I know what a PDF is. It is a glorified picture, bit images and/ vector images.
We'd need the score itself, the .mscz file

Yes, the sixteenth note in the middle must not be. It's unclear why that's used there and what happened.
But you can change it:
delete the triplet, a quarter rest appears, go to input mode, press Ctrl-3 and write d - 0 - d.

That was my suspicion from the start, to be honest.

Apparently the triplet bracket had been manually made wider
Select it, press Ctrl+R and see...
Apparently tuplet brackets are not getting selected via Ctrl+A, that's what threw me off

The triplets constsis of a triplet 8th note, a 16th rest. Followed by an 8th note (!), that note is not part of the triplet. The triplet bracket just gives a different impression for some reason.
Proof: select the triplet bracket, press Del.

Interesting! Category "bad engraving" ...
You can see it if you select this seperate 8th note on the right and increase the segment leading space. If the note is part of the triplet, then this would also make the triplet bracket wider. Here it does not.

You have almost no chance to find that if the bracket and number types are set to "none". And the measure length is still correct. Can be quite confusing ... :-)
