Midi import panel does not contain time signature settings

• Jul 6, 2023 - 05:21

I am attempting to import a midi file that is intended to be in 3/4, but musescore is defaulting the score to 4/4 and the midi import panel does not seem to contain the setting to change the scores time signature. I have attempted this in both Musescore 3 and Musescore 4.

Hello,
i have some new add this you can see this
If MuseScore is defaulting the imported MIDI file to 4/4 time signature instead of the intended 3/4, you can manually adjust the time signature after the import.
how you can change the time signature in MuseScore:
Open the imported MIDI file in MuseScore.
Navigate to the measure where you want to change the time signature.
Right-click on the measure and select "Measure Properties" from the context menu.
In the "Measure Properties" dialog box, locate the "Time Signature" section.
Change the time signature to 3/4 by modifying the numerator (top number) to 3 and the denominator (bottom number) to 4.
Click "OK" to apply the new time signature to the measure.
you can try this

Thanks for read this

MuseScore will use the time signature actually present in the file for each track, so first step would be to make sure that is there.

But if you need to override it, just add a new one from the palette. You can then run Tools / Regroup rhythms to attempt to repair the rhythm notation.

It should do something on the portion of the score you have selected (so be sure to select something), but additional cleanup may indeed be required. If you need further help, please attach your score and give the steps you are following (eg, what you are selecting before running that command).
