I am trying to play back: I attempt to select the measure to start from, either it will not select a measure or puts a blue line from top to bottom. When i touch play back or space bar nothing happens.
When attempting to copy a single line by selecting the measure it either selects every staff above and below or selects one staff and when I attempt to select the end measure it widens the selection to two or more staffs.
After you Save a file do it again this time Save as. A dialog box opens save the file on a pen drive or portable HD. Next time you open MS if the file can't be found do this. Attach external drive to your computer. Next open MuseScore and select Open File. Find it on the external device and double click to open it.
When I attempt to save the file to the external HD Kesu it does not permit it. Can you help further such as how to avoid loosing file when I save it on computer?
I saw the screenshot it's a bummer! When you want to save your work, go to File>Save as. Then choose a location on your computer like the desktop. Next click save. Hopefully, the next time you want to work on that file it will be on your desktop. Double click it and you're in business. :))

Please describe what you are trying to do and how you are trying to do it.
For the gaps, hit CTRL+A then CTRL+R.
Select the first measure of the staff in question. Hit End and SHIFT select the last measure.

Seems like something in the selection tool is stuck. Try resetting MeseScore to factory defaults. This is found in the help tab.
