MIDI import issues

So I understand they're working on updates for this, and I've read other similar posts, but has anyone yet found a workaround for MS importing MIDI files weirdly. If I import one single exported MIDI part at a time, I'm fine. However, if I export multiple instrument parts from my DAW all to one single MIDI file, then try to open this in MS v4.1, everything is grouped together weirdly (two instrument parts grouped together on a grand staff as opposed to separately) and seemingly impossible to untangle.
