create Parts for theater doublers on one staff
Using MuseScore 4: I want to create a part for a woodwind doubler for a theater show. I’ve created a score with a flute and soprano sax, each on its separate staff. To save paper, I want to combine both parts onto one staff, but need to have the key change to transpose up a step when I switch from flute to sax. Can someone please tell me the exact steps needed to make this happen?

You can use the "change instrument" procedure. Find it in the manual. Is the same person playing both parts?

Changing instruments for doublers is the very thing that the instrument change text is designed for. As a clarinet/sax player I use it a lot.

That is not how to do it in MuseScore. No need for multiple staves. Look at the links above for mid-score instrument change instead.

Read that full reply and from the three dot menu mark as spam. It usually disappears quite quickly as does the user.

Indeed. But for the benefit of passing readers, it might be OK to point out that this is bad advice.

But now it looks like my good advice is being deprecated. Ah well!
