Image visibility does not work

• Oct 22, 2023 - 06:24

After I add an image I cannot control its "visibility", no matter if I add an image to a note, measure or a frame.

Also, when I add image to note or measure on a single part of an orchestral score - the entire orchestral score layout is ruined, because I cannot control image visibility,

In the case of orchestral scores image visibility for individual parts or the entire orchestral score should be independent.

Yes, there should be an independent function to manage images.
There are some more or less useful workarounds. For example, you can change the image size in the main score independently from the one in the parts and make it very small there.
You should also disable the "Automatic placement" option.

Maybe write a "feature request"? Something like an image frame that is not linked between score and parts and has its reference only on the page ...

In 3.6.2 as well as in 4.1.1 you can make it invisible, it would stay visible onscreen though, not geyed out, but would not screw up the layout and won't be part of print or any graphical export

If the image is visible in 1 part of an orchestral score, it should be possible to make it invisible in the full orchestral score, because it scrambles the screen layout, screen page layout etc. making it awkward to continue editing. I need to waste time to use various workarounds just to continue editing.

Also, "set image color" dialog for "image appearance" DOES NOT WORK. If it worked, we could set image to "transparent" when we need to preserve screen page layouts.

My use for images in the score is to HIGHLIGHT certain measures by providing a shaded staff background.

Do you know any other way to highlight selected measures in black&white score? Use gray for notes is not good because it reduces note visibility.
