and with much regret and pain when this happens (over years), you begin to have ctrl+s (cmd+s) as an automatic move whenever you pause for 2 seconds. so you'll have saved your file countless times over the course of those hours. even though i set my auto-saves to like 5 minutes (or in my DAW every 50 changes), ctrl+s is automatic now...
