Controlling/constraining object movement?
Hi everybody,
This seems so basic, I was sure it'd already been asked, but I couldn't find anything about it.
MS4's default spacing is usually great—but as every page of music is different, there are times when notes, accidentals, chord symbols, text and other objects must be adjusted.
In the other notation apps I've used, you could select one or more objects and use keyboard shortcuts to "nudge" them in small increments (smaller than with L/R arrow alone).
Is it really true that MS doesn't have this—that the only way to move objects specific distances is to drag them with unconstrained movement? I know that zooming way in makes this easier, but it's a big interruption to workflow, and rather disorienting when you must do it often. 😜
And is there really no way to constrain movement horizontally or vertically? Apparently MS 3 let you do this by holding Ctrl or Shift (https://musescore.org/en/handbook/3/align-elements), but it doesn't work in MS 4. Was that actually intentional, or an oversight? In particular, why would we ever want to move accidentals anything but horizontally? Yet, you can. 🤷♂️
Thanks!
