No sound on certain instruments

I tried finding the topic on this in the forum, but gave up after a few pages.

Certain instruments on my scores aren't playing back any sound

I have the 4.2.0.233521125 version

I suspect there's a default setting to it.
I tried to find plug ins for the instruments but no go

The ones currently affected are bassoon and soprano saxophone (oboe works)
