audio system overdrive

I asked this question a long time ago, but never seemed to get a good fix. I'll repost again and see if someone has found a cure...
Oh, also, I am still using Musescore 3. I tried Musescore 4 and found 3 so much easier to use that I just stuck with it.

Ok, the problem,
I mostly create scores with piano, bass and 3 horns. (drummer and the guitarist read off the piano part)
I find when I have chord symbols on all of the parts and I hit PLAY the sound is distorted....just like listening to a speaker system that is being over driven.... it cracks...fries...the sound...very distorted.
If I take the chord off the horns and leave the chords on the two rhythm section parts.... it works. No frying of the sound....no distortion.

Any ideas how to cure the frying?

Doesn't it help to reduce the master level in the mixer? Possibly also for the individual instruments and the chord level?

[edited, the shortcut 'v' was not correct]
select all chord symbols, except in the piano staff, and make them not play (uncheck "play" in the properties).

I wonder why you need chord notation for the horns as well. It makes more sense for piano or guitar notes.

When you add chords to all instruments, the volume of all chords is added together. So if you have a lot of instruments, they will be very loud. If you want to notate it this way, then select all chords except those on a single staff and uncheck the "Play" box. Then they are notated everywhere, but are only played by one instrument staff.
